Results of BASEF 2004

On Saturday, April 3, 2004, over $145,000 in cash, prizes and scholarships was awarded to student participants in the 44th Annual 2004 Bay Area Science and Engineering Fair.

Almost 400 students from grades 7 – OAC in Hamilton, Halton, Brant, Haldimand and Norfolk spent months preparing some 270 amazing science and engineering projects. For the first time ever, each of the 145 Gold, Silver or Bronze medallists received a $500 entrance scholarship to be redeemed upon acceptance at either or Mohawk or Sheridan College.

Twenty four of the top winners of the Bay Area Science and Engineering Fair were awarded all-expense-paid Grand Trip Awards to compete at either the Canada Wide Science Fair in St. John’s, Newfoundland, (May 16-23) or the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair in Portland, Oregon (May 9-15).

We congratulate all of our participants for their hard work and enthusiasm; judges, guests and organizers were all impressed with what they saw.
