Call for Judges

January 30th, 2003

Earlier this week the BASEF Judge in Chief Tom Crawford issued a "Call for Judges" to all past science fair judges, and other interested members of the community who have an interest in this tremendously rewarding activity.

Over many years the fair has provided great opportunities for local youth to participate in an exceptional experience.  We are affiliated with both national and international science fair organizations, and send many of our winning students on to either the Canada-Wide Science Fair, or the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair.  BASEF 2004 will again give grade 7 to 12 students the chance to showcase their hard work on science, engineering and math related projects.  BASEF is open to students from the City of Hamilton, the Region of Halton, Haldimand County, Norfolk County and Brant County, including students of independent and private schools as well as home-schooled students.  Based on our latest information, we are expecting 300 projects from nearly 450 students at the four-day event. The continued success of this event depends on the support of judges who will volunteer their time, effort and expertise to learning about what students have discovered and want to share.  We need more than 150 judges in order to provide the kind of first class judging experience these students deserve!

You can learn more about judging at the science fair in the Judges Section (see menu at left) on this website.  This is also the section where you can find the online Judges Registration form.

Judging Day for BASEF 2004 will be on Thursday April 1, 2004, at Mohawk College, Fennell Campus, in Hamilton this year.  When you decide to assist with judging the science fair, please Register online in the Judges section of the BASEF 2004 website.
