Bay Area IISEF Winners
Four of the top award winners from BASEF 2002, Eva Vertes, Colin O'Flynn, Siobhan Kiely and Olivia Potvin, joined ten other students as part of YSF Team Canada at the 2002 Intel International Science and Engineering Fair in Louisville, Kentucky.
Eva Vertes won the following awards for her project, Inhibition of Programmed Cell Death by Purine-derivative RPI-069:
- Intel ISEF Best of Category Award in Medicine and Health of $5,000 for Top First Place Winner
- Intel ISEF First Award in Medicine and Health of $3,000 for Top First Place Winner
- University of Louisville Scholarship (full tuition)
Colin O'Flynn won the following awards for his project, Autonomous Hovercraft: Power of Neural Nets:
- American Association for Artificial Intelligence Award of $1,000
